Untold stories

Erin and Mark ( part 2 )

Mark was always lost inside his music. A born artist, Mark would remember few characteristics of every individual’s personality, but would mark the most important ones. He could easily forget a name or a date, but never kindness, sweetness, loyalty. His carefree nature would often be misunderstood. People often accused him of being inconsiderate, because his way of expressing affection was different.

That’s what he missed most about Erin. She would… ”get him”. If Mark ever came close to the feeling of love, it was when he was with Erin. Their relationship was a bit unusual but he always felt complete and… haunted at the same time.

He’s devoted his whole life to music; it was undoubtetly the love of his life, his one and only legal partner. He had just finished performing a song he wrote in the coffee house he hangs out. Everyone congratulated him and every female that would hear him sing, would instantly be mesmerized by his talent, while his body language would attract pretty much every gaze.

Girls would often be around him. He did enjoy the attention but he would soon be bored of it; because most of them gave their attention but with an exchange; his freedom. Mark’s second lover, was his freedom. That’s why every time he would talk to a girl, his mind would always jump to Erin, because with her, he didn’t have to sacrifice his freedom. He was with her and felt free, something that Mark would’ve never imagine so far.

” Come on man, what are you thinking about? Let’s go!” , said Julian, Mark’s best friend.

” Ah yeah, sorry man, got distracted for a bit”

” Like that’s not ordinary! ” Julian said sarcastically.

Mark smiled and started walking with his friend. He pulled out his phone to call Erin; it’s been too long but he wanted to hear her, to see her, to make sure she is well and happy….

Will Mark manage to call Erin? What will happen between them? Are there meant to be something, after all?…
